The City of Montreal recently announced a bold decision for Mont Royal, to give some space back to nature and to better protect it. It’s an important decision - aligned with the realities of the world in which we now live. Faced with the impacts of climate change, the status quo is no longer an option. Though the road to the necessary ecological transition may seem arduous at times, this decision for Mont Royal is a concrete example of climate action and will hopefully inspire other Quebec municipalities.

  • Reality check: The government is now more fully aware of the effects of climate change and is dealing with the shock. Its back is against the wall. We've got to keep pushing forward.
