The City of Montreal recently announced a bold decision for Mont Royal, to give some space back to nature and to better protect it. It’s an important decision - aligned with the realities of the world in which we now live. Faced with the impacts of climate change, the status quo is no longer an option. Though the road to the necessary ecological transition may seem arduous at times, this decision for Mont Royal is a concrete example of climate action and will hopefully inspire other Quebec municipalities.
Politics
I’m happy to hear politicians talking about our ideas
Progress:We’re hearing more and more of our recommendations being talked about by decision-makers.
Reality check:The government is now more fully aware of the effects of climate change and is dealing with the shock. Its back is against the wall. We've got to keep pushing forward.
By investing:The government has a role to play in ensuring quality food for future generations.
By adapting: Changes in eating habits are difficult, but necessary to ensure that we’ll be able to continue nourishing ourselves while respecting our resources.
