Équiterre review_header

Dear ,

As we head into the summer season, we wanted to thank you.

Over the past few weeks, your mobilization has been a real source of encouragement. Your shares, messages, presence and the more than 3,000 citizen consultation submissions from our community remind us of how strong the resolve is, across Quebec and Canada, to protect the climate, our health and our quality of life.

Momentum is buidling, and it comes at the right time.

Recent progress — from the withdrawal of Bill 5 to the legal challenge against Bill C-5 — shows that public mobilization can make a real difference.

As environmental rollbacks continue to take shape, your actions show that a strong, active movement is pushing our governments to do better.

We encourage you to keep building on this momentum: stay informed, make your voice heard, support concrete solutions and remind decision-makers that the ecological transition must address the real needs of our society.

Thanks for reading,

The Équiterre Team

The world is moving off fossil fuels as Canada continues to live in the past

The war in the Middle East and the resulting spikes in oil and gas prices are another reminder that fossil fuel dependence leaves households, economies and communities vulnerable. Canada must keep pace with the global energy transition and invest in renewable, affordable and resilient solutions.

We must keep up the pressure against environmental rollbacks
Thank you to everyone who took part in the federal consultation last month. Your action made a difference, helping to prolong the consultation period.

There's therefore still time to push for rigorous, transparent and democratic environmental assessments.
