| View in browser Hello ,   The pop-up Shein store in Montreal only lasted a few days, but the ultra-fast fashion it sells will leave a lasting mark on our landfills. Équiterre's high-profile stunt clearly demonstrated the harmful impacts of disposable fashion.   We’re seeing the trade war escalate in Ottawa. Having already raised several red flags, we must stand firm against the pressure from the United States and remind the Carney government that we expect it to act more wisely than our neighbours to the South: avoid betting everything on oil, and instead develop projects that make us more self-sufficient and less dependent—projects that allow the country to prosper without ravaging our essential resources.   In Quebec, the election campaign is underway. In accordance with the Election Act, we're making Équiterre's voice heard with the Vire au vert coalition. We must keep the environment, our health, the cost of living, and our quality of life at the heart of the election debates.   We must stay vigilant, mobilized, and determined.   Enjoy the read, The Équiterre Team Our point of view Featured Équiterre condemns a harmful business model Équiterre is calling on the federal government to rapidly intervene to curb the rise of ultra-fast fashion in the country, a business model which has harmful impacts at every level. Read more OPINION The wildfires of Canadian unity Fighting wildfires is serious business. Reducing the risks that fuel them is even more so. Yet the federal government intends to finance the construction of a pipeline. Read OPINION Unhealthy agricultural soils, outdated policies Climate change highlights an increasingly costly reality: producing our food is becoming increasingly risky for farmers. Consumption Policy CBCLISTEN August 10, 2026 Équiterre says "honeymoon" around Carney government is over Sabrina Marandola speaks with Daniel Rotman to understand why the group says it’s time for Quebecers to end the honeymoon period with the Prime Minister. Policy The Gazette July 20, 2026 Quebec and Ottawa agree to streamline environmental assessments “We would like to have a demonstration from our government officials that (duplicate environmental assessments) was really a problem,” said Équiterre's Charles-Édouard Têtu. Policy Climate National Observer August 11, 2026 Équiterre calls for an end to Quebec’s honeymoon with Mark Carney Équiterre launched a campaign warning against some of the Carney government's recent decisions, including taxpayer funding for another Alberta pipeline. Policy Climate CityNews August 28, 2026 Municipalities lay out climate priorities “Several cities have to put the brakes on their development because they don’t have enough water (…)” due to the dilapidated state of infrastructure, emphasized Marc-André Viau, Director of Government Relations at Équiterre. Climate Policy TAKE ACTION Say no to disposable fashion! The amount of new fashion trends being pushed on consumers has exploded, with 10,000 new ultra-fast fashion products being released every day.   This business model is overflowing our landfills, adding another 344,000 metric tons of textile waste every year.   This must stop.
